It’s almost that time! We’re getting our hospital and baby bags ready so we can grab and go when these little guys decide they’re ready to come out. Here’s what we’re packing:
Snacks & Drinks
- Greek yogurts with stir-in fruit
- Cheese sticks or string cheese
- Sliced oranges
- Fresh fruit salad (pineapple, melon, etc)
- Teabags and a honey bear
- Rice cakes
- Peanut butter
- Raisins
- Coconut water
- Honey sticks and honey candy
Baby Supplies
- Carseats and bases (installed in the car)
- 4 receiving blankets (2 per baby)
- 4 onesies (2 preemie, 2 newborn)
- 4 hats
- Newborn and preemie diapers
- Baby wipes
Mommy / Daddy Supplies
- iPod and dock (for the labor and pushing playlist)
- Cell phone charger
- Camera, charger, and extra battery
- Pillows (from our bed), including our regular pillows, my under-belly wedge pillow, and my “squeezie” pillow
- Crockpot (to make perineal compresses)
- Rice socks
- Hairbands and bobby pins
- Lanolin (for after nursing)

- Birth and post-partum plans
- Advance Medical Directive
- Phone list (family and friends)
- Signs for the delivery and recovery room doors:
- Clothes for labor and delivery:
- 1 sport bra and 1 stretchy, flowy skirt to wear during labor instead of a hospital gown
- 1 bikini to wear in the birthing tub
- Daddy in Training’s swim trunks for the birthing tub
- Clothes for recovery period:
- Light robe
- 2 nursing bras
- 2 tank tops
- 2 pairs of stretchy, dark-colored dance pants
- Dark underwear
- Fuzzy socks
- Flip-flops
- Change of clothes and PJ pants for Daddy in Training
- Toiletries (toothbrush/toothpaste, hairbrush, face wash, moisturizer, anti-perspirant, mascara, lip gloss)
- Extra-long maxi pads with wings
- Playing cards
- Notepad and pen
- Small blanket
- Hand mirror
