Daily Schedule for 6-Month-Old Twins

Last month I posted Miles and Emmett’s daily schedule at 5 months old. Now that they’re 6 months based on due date and almost 7 months based on birth date, they are consolidating their sleep into two naps a day instead of three, and they’re getting more active. They’re also outgrowing some of the activities we did before — namely the bouncy chairs that have been my salvation. (I predict maybe 4 weeks until they literally don’t fit in them anymore. I’m afraid. Very afraid.) The weather is also insanely hot these days, which interferes with outside time. So, it’s time to change the schedule.

Here’s the new version: Daily Schedule for Miles & Emmett updated 7-18-12 (6-7 months)

The big changes:

  • Two naps (9-11 and 1-3) instead of three
  • More focused physical activity
  • Targeted meals vs. snacks
  • Addition of solid foods
  • Optional outdoor activities, weather permitting

What we kept the same:

  • Wakeup and bedtime
  • Simultaneous eating and sleeping
  • Mix of time in their room and time in the family space
  • Alternating types of activities and stimulation

Again, feel free to download this and tweak it to your heart’s content. How is your schedule working for you? What does your day look like with your baby or babies? Leave a comment and share your daily routine.

This was really helpful to me! Thank you. The main thing that I changed was the bedtime is too early for my twin girls. They are just not ready to sleep at 6:00. I adjusted the entire schedule after 11:00 to be an hour later, and I am still working out a bedtime that will work. But the over all template has helped me enormously. So, thank you!
